With inspiration and laughter, you can achieve the goals you have set for yourself. The following three people are truly inspirational.

John Wooden: Leadership

John Wooden was one of the most revered coaches of all time. He was renowned for his short, simple, and inspirational messages on how to be successful in life. My favorite quotes are:

“Never make excuses. Your friends don’t need them and your foes won’t believe them.”

“The best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.”

“Do not mistake activity for achievement.”

Will Smith: Wisdom on life, success and happiness

Will Smith is a great actor and one of the most successful people on the planet. He provides an inspiration to all of us. My favorite quotes are:

“There are no shortcuts to success.”

“Dedicate yourself to being better every day.”

Chris Gardner: The Pursuit of Happyness

Chris Gardner went from penniless to owner and CEO of a multi-million dollar brokerage firm. He’s a motivational speaker on overcoming obstacles. My favorite quote is:

“The most important part of being a man is being responsible”.

Samuel Clemens, better known by his pen name Mark Twain was an American author and humorist. He is most noted for his novels, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. We all have unfulfilled dreams that we want to achieve in our lifetime. Sometimes we lose our passion or just get sidetracked along the way. You can recharge your spirits and rediscover your will to succeed by reading and watching videos of eight truly inspirational people. I especially enjoyed Nick Vujicic, a man with no limbs who teaches people how to get up and Randy Pausch, a Carnegie Mellon University professor with his “dying speech.”

Before we begin, I would like to quote Michael Jordan, probably the best basketball player ever, on his quote on failure. “I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” – Michael Jordan.

Jordan is saying that you can either keep laying on the ground, giving up. Or you can get up, dust yourself off, and keep trying. The first option doesn’t lead to success.
